Is HMB golf links good?
HMB Golf Links is a hidden treasure. Both the "Ocean" and "Old" Courses are well maintained, and offer great views along with challenging golf. If you are new to the course, I’d recommend the Ocean course as if affords beautiful ocean front holes and views (similar to Pebble Beach). However, I personally like the layout and challenge of the Old course that weaves through the Ocean Colony homes, as it has more trees and is more techincal. While neither course is extremely challenging, they both have their share of difficult holes. The course is rarely busy (especially on week days), and they do a good job of spacing out the groups so they don’t get backed up. It can get quite cold and breezy, so be sure to bring a jacket any time of year. Also, as the regular fees are quite pricey, they do offer significantly reduced "twilight" rates. You can also sometimes find coupons online for reduced greens fees.
Is the Ocean Course a links course?
There are two courses here. We opted for the Ocean Course, aptly named as most holes have views of the ocean. The course is a links style course and was in good condition. We really enjoyed playing it. The Ritz Carlton there is a bit pricy so we stayed at the Lodge which is affordable and also on the course. We had a late lunch in the restaurant at the course and it was very good. Would love to return and play the “Old” course next time.
Is a stay required for a scuba diving course?
No stay is required. Both courses are open to the public.
Is the Old Course hard?
The Old Course was a pretty average course, nothing special. I really enjoyed the Ocean Course. It was wide open and not ter ribly hard.
